Both athletes have thanked the UAE government and consider the nation to be their second home.
Shadab, who has served as Pakistan’s vice-captain for the last two T20I series against Afghanistan, took on the role in the absence of Babar Azam. However, the all-rounder was unable to achieve the desired outcomes from the series as Pakistan lost, with Afghanistan mostly dominating the first two games.
However, Pakistan bounced back from the first two losses and came out firing in the third and final game of the series, crushing Afghanistan by 66 runs to avert the series sweep. Iftikhar Ahmed, a seasoned player, was one of the more experienced players when Men in Green added new players for the recently finished series.
