In February 2023, imports of mobile phones in Pakistan declined by 36.39 percent month over month (MoM), to $33.054 million, from imports of $51.960 million in January 2023, and dropped by 76.73 percent from $142 million in February 2022, according to data made public by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). The imports of mobile phones decreased by 27% from 12 billion in January to Rs. 8.81 billion rupees in February.
The number of imports of mobile phones in February 2023 was 64% lower than almost Rs 25 billion in imports that were reported in the same month the previous year.
Records Imports of Mobile Phones in Pakistan
Imports of mobile phones in Pakistan worth $447.855 million in the first eight months (July to February) of the current fiscal year 2022–23, a decline of 68.29 percent from the $1.412 billion imported in the same time the year before. Throughout the study period, the import of mobile phones reached more than Rs. 101 billion.
Imports of mobile phones in Pakistan fell by 76.73 percent year over year (YoY) in February 2023 from $142.033 million in the same month the year before.

Imports of Telecom Products
From July through February of FY23, the government bought telecom products for a total of $708.798 million, down 62.08 percent from the $1.869 billion imported during the same period in FY22.
The overall value of telecom imports declined from $217.396 million in February 2022 to $64.741 million in February 2023, a decline of 70.22 percent over the previous year.
The overall amount of telecom imports decreased by 17.36 percent in February 2023 compared to January 2023’s $78.337 million.
Import of Other Apparatus
The imports of other apparatus dropped by 42.90 percent from $456.967 million in the same period of the prior fiscal year to $260.944 million in the July-February period of FY23. Other apparatus imports totaled $31.687 million in February 2023, representing a 57.95 percent decline from $75.364 million in February 2022 and a growth of 20.13 percent month over month from $26.377 million in January 2023.
